COMPLIANCE WITH EU MRV / IMO REQUIREMENTS

EU MRV

From 1st January 2018, all ships above 5000 GT calling EU ports will have to monitor and report their CO2 emissions and have them annually verified by an independent third party. As per Regulation (EU) 2015/757, Owners / Managers have until 31st August 2017 to prepare and submit a Monitoring Plan (MP) for each vessel to a verifier.

IMO DCS

A Similar scheme has been also adopted by IMO, according to Regulation 22A of MARPOL Annex VI which enters into force on March 2018, all Ships above 5000 GT will have to report their annual CO2 emissions from 1st January 2019 onwards.
Owners will have to update their Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plans (SEEMP) and submit to RO for approval before that date.

Task 1:

Preparation of ship-specific Monitoring Plans in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2015/757 and EU MRV requirements, submission to the Verifier of your choice and follow-up to assessment completion

(limit date 31st August 2017)

Remarks:

A Gap Analysis will be conducted at your Company’s premises at a date mutually agreed in order to assess all required fields of the EU MRV regulation (i.e. evaluation of current practices regarding fuel consumption and reporting, equipment and practices used, distance measurement monitoring processes, etc.

Required supporting documentation:

1. ISM procedures / forms dealing with bunkering / bunker management (e.g. tank sounding logs, etc.). (SMS extract).
2. Sea Trials Report (both Hull and Machinery Parts) for each vessel.
3. M/E and A/E Shop Trials Reports for each vessel.
4. Engine IAPP Certificates (incl. Records) for M/E and A/Es (A/E Serial Numbers to be shown) for each vessel.
5. Aux. Boiler Operations Manual (at least the first pages showing
the vessel’s Hull Number and including boiler capacity and
design pressure data for each vessel.

Task 2:

Process and elaboration of the ship’s annual emissions data and preparation of the annual Emissions Report for each ship in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2015/757, submission to the Verifier of your choice and follow-up to assessment completion.
